Aim

This course is aimed at providing you with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help.

Course Duration

This course is run over 6 hours .

Course content 

• Know what mental health is

• Understand why people develop mental health conditions

• Know how to recognise and manage stress

• Know how to provide advice and practical support

• Know how to recognise mental health conditions

• Understand the impact of substance abuse

• Understand the First Aid action plan for mental health

• Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in a work​place

Understand the range of mental health disorders

• • Depression

  • PTSD

  • Suicide Personality disorders

  • Psychosis

  • Anxiety

  • Self-harm
