FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

Aim

This course  is aimed at providing people with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help, the course also goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.  

Course Duration

This course is run over 2 days.

  • Understand why people develop mental health conditions

  • The role of a mental health First Aider

  • Know how to recognise and manage stress

  • Know how to provide advice and practical support

  • Know how to recognise mental health conditions

  • Understand the impact of substance abuse

  • Understand and implement the First Aid action plan for mental health

  • Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in a work​place

  • Know the support and therapy provided

  • Know where to sign post someone with a mental health condition

  • Understand the range of mental health disorders

    • Depression

    • PTSD

    • Suicide Personality disorders

    • Psychosis

    • Anxiety

    • Self harm

    • Eating disorders​

    • Bipolar

    • Schizophrenia
